HELP! My EF died this morning...
drivng my 91 4door LX to work this morning, everything was fine until i started going up a steep hill. i heard a "thud" then the car just bogged out big time. i hit a quick u-turn to try to get back home and then the car completely bogged out and shut off. all belts seem to be in place, main fuses look good, no leaking fluid under the car. tried to restart, it will turn over but not crank. tried to crank twice, on the second time, i heard that "thud" sound again. i hope its nothing serious but it sure sounds like it...
any ideas on what the problem is, suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated\
*UPDATE*

*UPDATE 2*

yeah -sounds like a timing belt.
Take off your vale cover and then the upper timing bet cover and see if your belt is in there.
Even if it looks ok, grab the belt and pull on it. Sometimes they snap at the bottom and the top makes it appear to be good still.
If it's snapped, pull the head off and see if any damage is done to the pistons or valves.
Or just put a nw belt on and cross your fingers.
Good luck.
I've snapped a few belts and got lucky every time with zero valve or piston damage.
Threw a new belt on and was good to go.

thanks guys i will check that as soon as i get home.
the guy i bought the car from claimed he'd had the timing belt recently replaced, but who knows...
this may be a dumb question but is it as simple as just slapping a new belt on? or is there more to it?

I had the same problem with my old EF, the rotor has fallen off the shaft and then no spark. I replaced it and it fell again... Until I put an original Honda then my problem was solved :p Hope this will help, could be the timing belt either
but I hope it's just the rotor
