top speed sucks!!!!
86 crx si .......k+n/cat back...........the dam thing climbs fast to 100mph, but trickles off to 105, and then its out??????? wuts the deal??????

Not enough torque to overcome the drag at that speed. A front air dam will help. You should also modify the stock airbox by removing all of the resonator BS and then open up the front side of the box with a dremel.
Check out http://www.roadracegear.com - the have very nice airdams for the 1g CRX

already performed surgery on the air box, it just feels weird, you can't tell diff from 60 to 90 but hit 100, slows and 105 falls on its face. if i can't do more than that i'll sell the dame thing........ bad thing is , don't have a time, but in homemade 1/4 i can run it up to 84-89mph..........
when i had the hacked airbox i cant go faster than 105 and it will take forever
when i had the weapon R intake, i got it to 115... 10 mph more gain thanxs to more air.,. but anyways the STD and DX die around the 110'ish thanxs to the final drive and the drag wich makes the engine just suffer
i have the Z6 withthe 4speed and i cant take it mroe than 120.... it just takes forever, bc the tranny its heavy for him... and my friends Si can do the 130 ish

Air-dams will increase your top end. Period. Splitters on certain tracks will slow top speed but will lower overall lap times.
The RRG.com 1st gen Si race car ( for sale btw) hit 122mph at Summit point, Hyperfest weekend. This was in 4th gear at 7000 rpms. The car could use a 'usable' final drive ratio someday. Maybe in the 125+ range with a good 5th gear.
OPM IT race motor, Air-dam and 1800lbs.
How do I know? ....... only 3 gauges and I had the time to peak!
DO NOT try that at home boys and girls.

Well, first of all, it *is* a 16 year old car with (probably) the original motor.
2nd, the aerodynamics of the car aren't the best, and when you're going that high, the drag is enough to keep you from going faster. This is called an aerodynamic govenor. As speed increases, your power requirement increases exponentially: to square the speed, cube the power.
A way around this would be to clean up the car, aerodynamically. This should get you 5- 10 MPH. But why do you want to go that fast? Doesn't sound like you're racing on a track...
