I got a 92 hatch and a 94 integra. I'm looking to swap the B18 into the hatch. The A/C is hooked up but not working in the hatch. It does in the integra. Is there any way, I can use the Integra A/C components and drop them into the civic? From what Ive read, it seems the most common route would be to use the d series compressor and the delsol vtec a/c bracket when doing the B swap. Just seeing if I can do it with the parts I already have.

first you need to determine what is wrong with the AC in the hatch. It may just be a leak in the system and it doesnt have any refigerant in it. Unfortunately since its a 92 it uses R12. It can be retrofitted to use R134 though.

To do the retrofit the right way can be expensive, but if your just looking to make a cheap fix you can install new fittings and then have it charged with R134a to around 80% of the amount of R12 that is supposed to be in it.

Keep in mind that if there isnt any refrigerant in it then you have a leak somewhere and that part will have to be fixed/replaced. That can also get expensive if its an evaporator or something similar because the dash has to come out to replace it.

As far as which parts can be swapped you would have to check part numbers because I am not good at remembering stuff like that. I do know that the r12/r134 transition came around the 94-95 area for honda. It just depends on the make and model for when they made the switch. Generally the more expensive the car the earlier they got the newer technology

 

Thanks for the input. I found out the compressor is bad and I more than likely have a leak.

 

to use the a/c system with the swap you have to get a sohc compressor, since you determined yours is bad, and use all the original ac components from the eg, nothing will fit from the integra, you also have to use a Del Sol bracket(b16a3) or a CR-V(B20) bracket for to mount the compressor on to.. when you get everything on there do a retrofit, a vacuum, check for leaks, then if all checks out good, fill it with 80% of freon of what the original r-12's capacity is...

The thing about the teggy compressor that doesn't fit are the fittings
So you can take it to a weld/fab shop and have the d series fittings put on the teggy pump
That's cheaper since you already have the teggy pump and bracket
