Default Spak Plug Gap size?

I wanted to make sure.
I bought some spark plugs at autozone they are gapped at .40
Is this the right size for a 1990 honda civic 4 cycl 1.5L?

I checked around and didn't find a definte answer.
I don't have the owner's manual, and nothing under the hood to check as some one stated in google.

google it/buy the book. I'm sure someone on here could post a link to the book or you could search for it.

if you would have just bought some ngk spark plugs you wouldn't have to worry to much since they already come pre gaped at .044. but even in the book, it says anywhere between .040-.044 for gaping.

*edit* just set it at .044

Almost all Hondas use a .044 gap. This includes all US '88-'91 Civics and CRXes.

I'm not a 4th gen person, but I think I might have gotten this all right (engines are matched correctly to the part numbers and gap).

I figured I might as well just list all the gaps and NGK part numbers that are covered in this section.

D15B1 - 1.5L SOHC
(1988-1991 Civic STD)

- BCPR6ES-11 / 6779 (NGK Standard Copper - Copper Core)
- BCPR6E-11 / 5632 (NGK V-Power - V-Cut Electrode)#
- BCPR6GP / 7088 (NGK G-Power Platinum - Single Platinum)
- BCPR6EIX-11 / 4919 (NGK Iridium IX - Single Iridium)
- BCPR6EP-11 / 3350 (NGK Laser Series - Platinum & Iridium)*
GAP : 0.044

D15B2 - 1.5L SOHC
(1988-1991 CRX DX)
(1988-1991 Civic DX/LX)
(1988-1991 Civic Wagon 1.5 2WD)

- BCPR6ES-11 / 6779 (NGK Standard Copper - Copper Core)
- BCPR6E-11 / 5632 (NGK V-Power - V-Cut Electrode)#
- BCPR6GP / 7088 (NGK G-Power Platinum - Single Platinum)
- BCPR6EIX-11 / 4919 (NGK Iridium IX - Single Iridium)
- BCPR6EP-11 / 3350 (NGK Laser Series - Platinum & Iridium)*
GAP : 0.044

D15B6 - 1.5 SOHC
(1988-1991 CRX HF)

- BCPR5ES-11 / 6696 (NGK Standard Copper - Copper Core)#
- BCPR5E-11 / 1273 (NGK V-Power - V-Cut Electrode)#
- BCPR5EGP / 7086 (NGK G-Power Platinum - Single Platinum)
- BCPR5EIX-11 / 3306 (NGK Iridium IX - Single Iridium)
- BCPR5EP-11 / 2097 (NGK Laser Series - Platinum & Iridium)*
GAP : 0.044

D16A6 - 1.6L SOHC
(1988-1991 CRX Si)
(1988-1991 Civic EX/Si)
(1988-1991 Civic Wagon 1.6 4WD)
