I have to keep my hand on top of my drinks in the oem cup holders, while turning and shifting in my Civic! I've seen the JDM Cup holders with the pop out unit.. those look a little better, but you have to get the arm rest delete piece as well eh (And I love my arm rest and the storage inside)?
What are my options?
Thanks,

I seen the LX 4 door have a little sturdier design. The cup holder has a top to close down and there is some rings to help support the cups.
bottles ftw.
ive heard the ctr cupholder doesnt make too much of a difference, i think the 99-00 has the better design compared to the 96-98 with the popup lid.. but i dont have first hand experience, only with ruining floormats with my 96-98 cupholders spilling stuff.

I have the pop out cup holders in my 99...and an arm rest. Where did you hear you have to delete the arm rest? And the pop out ones don't fit normal 20 oz. bottles, just cans and fast food cups

I'll try to find the website that had a pictorial about the pop-out JDM cupholders and the guy mentioned you had to delete the armrest.. shrug I trust you guys of course!
Well I suppose i'll just order in a pop-out JDM style since it's a little better. I tend to go to Subway for lunch when at work and I like a take my drink with me (usually just a 20oz cup) and they don't fit snug enough in the drink holder holes and will tip even with the slightest of turns.. even under decent acceleration they will tip backwards (already got drink all over my shift boot once).

I saw these things for sale on EBAY that would go down where the storage or stereo stuff thing is right in front of the cup holders and it had 2 trays that popped out 1 being a thing for coins and the other was for cups it would be floating higher so the cup would sit in it and it was real legit. Sold for like $60 and I wish I would have boughten one. I might have a picture of them somewhere
Bottles.

I can manage to keep cups in my cup holders as long as I don't drive crazy. Those little stubby half soda cans fit perfectly in them too.

By the way, it's "bought" not "boughten".

Of the cars I have here ('98 Civic, '97 del Sol, '93 Accord), the Accord still has the best cup holders by far. It's the type that presses into your dash, similar to the one pictured above, but they don't unfold when you pop it out. It's just holes to support the cup while it rests on the tray underneath.
what you can also, do is put somearound the bottom of the cup or something to give it a bit of a tighter fit, but it may get annoying take it out, and putting back in...
but bottles are the best, who cares if they move around lol
luder916-- what you saw was most likely custom...
my moms expediton had them that you could pull them out to fit the big cups, or put them in for smaller cops, or bottles, i have only seen them in civics a few times.

Yeah, those are for the 1989 to 1995 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable.
They go for $10-25 on eBay. $60 would have been a total rip off. You could probably get one for $5-10 at a junkyard.

Measurements (from eBay) are 7 5/8 inch wide by 2 1/4 inch tall by 8 inches deep.

dang good stuff thanks! I have the cassete player down low on my 96 I would like to take that out, it wont ever be used. Not sure if those cup holder holes will fit right above the stock ones though. The dash how it comes out sucks for tall drinks too. guess it goes to show how we supersize everything now. My EG was was worst for cups. Talk about a flimsy cup holder and how the dash came out I couldnt fit anything in there.
