Default Need help - Skunk2 exhaust system installation

I tried to install the exhaust system but it seems that i am missing something. I figure it out that the missing part is something like the test pipe. When i received my box it is only 3 parts (muffler, mid-pipe and the resonator).

Did i miss something or they missed to send the other one?

I already check the skunk2 website and i got the exactly same parts except when i install the exhaust is short from the down pipe.

need help please.

Test pipe? Do you still have your stock cat in place? This exhaust should bolt up right behind that.

the exhaust is 2 pieces, the first one is the muffler and the second one is with the resonators.

Should i cut the first resonator and put flange in it? If i do that, am i going to loose power?

this is the exhaust that came from the car. I am not sure anyhow if the first owner change it...

Everything should of bolted right up and looking at the picture i think the previous owner used a test pipe or second resonator on the exhaust so to solve your problem i would purchase a cat. converter or a test pipe. I would recommend a cat converter.

Yeah it kinda looks like there's a resonator or cat welded in where there should be a flange judging by the picture. You could flange the existing one, buy a new cat with flanges on both ends (expensive), or pick up a cheap ebay test pipe.

It's really just a piece of pipe with flanges on both ends that need sto be a certain length. I wouldn't pay 100$ for that. Get a cheap-o ebay one imo.

if you say its as short as you make it sound it seems that you may have gotten it for the crx. when people buy the hks exhaust for there crx they purchase the hatch version and cut off about a foot since its no longer made. i have a sk2 exhaust on my crx. if you like i can measure the 3 pipings that way you have something to compare yours to. i really dont believe that sk2 forgot to send you a part. ill post up my measurements and you can go from there.

note: hatch is longer than the crx

here's my stock exhaust, at the very front of the pic is my catalytic converter. that is what you are missing. looks like the prev. owner welded in another resonator or perhaps an aftermarket cat instead of BOLTING in a test pip or a highflow cat

to fix your gap problem you are going to need to purchase a cat or a test pipe. i bought a test pipe off of ebay for like 40 bux, works great

here are some very crude measurements. lol. ima look at this tomorrow and say wtf was i thinking last night. oh well. check it out and let us know. it does seem that dcrb is right on this one. if you still have a problem just take it to the exhaust shop and be done with it.

btw i think this pic is of a hatchback exhaust but the measurements are of a crx.

well either way the piece you have circled in red isn't supposed to be welded to the b pipe. it's supposed to stay on the car when you change your exhaust. if you have one for a crx then it wouldn't be long enough to stick out the back of the car
