ok, i'm trying to remount the transmission onto my engine. the clutch is lined up correctly but the transmission just will not slide onto the engine. I can get it to about 1/2" away from the engine, BUT it just stops and will not slide any farther. i've checked for clearance issues and everything seems to be fine. I've been able to get 1 bolt in at a time, but the others absolutely will not go in because i'm unable to get the tranny any closer. Does ANYONE have any ideas/or know why it's not remounting? on your transmission you will have dowel pins, i know my h23a has 2 of them. they will slide into the side of your block and once you have them properly inserted into the block your tranny will bolt right on. here is a picture of the side of my block, i THINK these are the holes the dowel pins go in, i cant remember so i MIGHT be wrong, they should be the holes that are not threaded. once you look at the tranny youll see what im talking about.


remember, its a lot easier to do with 2 people instead of one...

I can't get it close enough to slide the dowel pins in...
