Are 98R headunits different than 00-01's
I believe the pin connector on the 00-01's is different than the 98's. My 98 looks like the picture below. The reason why I ask is because I bought a DICE ipod kit for 98-01's, although it doesn't fit because it seems honda changed the pin connection after 98. Any input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Spending $140.00 and having DICE repeatedly state it'll fit, and it doesn't, truly sucks.

they should all be the same
as far as i know the only different ones are 99-00 civic si's. there connectors are square.

I thought so too, but check out this link to DICE's 98-01 kit. It's alot different from my 98'

I have a similar IPOD kit using it on my JDM 98 spec R headunit. It is for the newer plug (the white far left) on the radio. I think you are out of luck.
If it doesn't do what they advertise, I'd just return it.
If it's not plug and play but you still want to use it, you can always cut the wires from the DICE harness and join them to the corresponding wires on the OEM harness.
