96-00 stock exhaust diameter??
Just get a generic oval muffler like ES tuning or something and get it put on some new piping at a muffler shop. Not worth buying a catback for a stock d series.
well I currently have some large size cat back with the cat removed. but I just want my car to be as torquey as possible since it will never be fast on my budget. I am wondering if I should take this off and get a 2 inch or 2.25 inch pipe size system.
i feel the same way, my only concern is that if I go to a muffler shop to have this system put in, they don't usually have the equipment to medrel bend the exhaust I want, so if I request 2.25 in pipe then the bends are probably around 2 inches.

Now, Rock Auto has replacement bolt-on rear muffler sections for less than $50, so look up your particular application and check the cost. If the shipping is too high, you may consider looking up the same brand/part number through your local National Auto Parts Store (Advance Auto, O-Reilly's, Auto Zone, etc.) and see how their price compares overall. Walker and Bosal both make products that will last far longer than you need since you intend to replace the entire exhaust system within a year.
