Default Z10 Crossmember users....got a small problem.

I have noticed when I let my clutch out I hear a crunching/clicking sound from the front of my car. I though it was a bad ball joint or my brake pads where loose in the calipers but when I got under my car to check the sound seamed to be coming from the eyelets on the radius arms. Does anyone with these traction bars hear this sound?

I haven't heard any crunching sounds from mine. Did you have your car aligned after you put them on? Are the actual bushings in the eyelets wearing out?

i believe the Z10 radius rods are load adjustable. you might have slack in them, unperseptable by visual inspection, but as you launch (or just accelerate) the rods load up, tightening and making noises. try preloading them a little bit more.

i have a custom made 1 armed bastard of a Z10 crossmember (made before its time, same structure just no front arm, same rods) and those rods make a shitload of noise on mine, embarrasingly so. Creeaking up to lights, big ole THUNK when i launch, sounds like the whole front ends coming loose. I'm gona go lube the ******* like hell and see if i can get some of the squeeking to go away. Otherwise, tighten everything to spec and see if it helps. My torsion/lower strut bar make noise if they arent tightened too, so if you loosened those for anything recently check that as well.

Ya mines does it when I roll up to lights with my foot on the break. My car was aligned properly so putting more load on them will take it out of alingment. I guess some lube my be needed. Well aleast I know it's not just me.

not sure on the construction, but if there are heim joints in there at all some noise is to be expected. The adjustable panhard rod on my rex has heim joint ends and it makes a TON of noise. Click-clack, rattle-rattle, annoy-annoy.......

right after i posted last i went outside and greased those eyelets, no more scratchy squeeking sounds! the only noise is the thunk at takeoff and its not audible outside the car. sweeet. much nicer.
