Default difference between ecu?

yeah im a noob when it comes to the ecu. is there adifference between ecus when they are chipped? like if i buy a p06 ecu chipped with a b20 basemap will it be exactly the same as buying a p75 ecu chipped with a b20 basemap? im just wondering because the p06 originally came on a sohc civic and the p75 us from a dohc ls. just trying to figure out what ecu to get.
