I love pulling engines apart...never know what youll find (Pics inside/input needed)
I picked up a GSR shortblock today for a cheap price. Already have bare block, main caps and crank sold to a well known company for $500bucks but thats another story. Anyways I start tearing apart and looky what I find:
Spoon Rods/JDM ITR Pistons

Now my question is how much are spoon rods worth cause I can't find **** on them on google. Did they even make rods? I tried calling spoon but no answer

This is a stock GSR P72 Rod:

This is the rod I have (R 4):

Nothing like the ones I got. The ones I have say P72 on the bearing cap not on side of rod. Also 2 out of 4 are stamped 23 on side other 2 are stamped 24

I know when spoon builds engines they use sometimes use stock part and weigh them to get the best balanced engine possible for higher rpms in races that require stock internals but idk its hard to say youll have to keep trying to contact them
most spoon parts r u just balanced OEM parts, even the cams they send their cam specs to Honda n Hona makes them with the OEM materials to their specs...
but anyways, the pistons r probably spoon also, cuz again the spoon pistons r just balanced JDM ITR's... link for a little help/reference showing spoon pistons just being balanced jdm itr's

Just wierd that they dont have same markings as OEM P72's atleast not on the sides. The quest to find answers continues
