Hey guys,

I have a 2000 accord V-6 and my sunroof/moonroof will only close halfway. It will open all the way but when I want to close it, it get stuck halfway. Anyone have this problem before, if so, what was the fix. Thanks in advance.

 

check the rails, maybe something is stuck preventing it from closing when its going back? do u hear the motor still trying to close the window after it stops??

 

Does it slow down to a stop, or does it stop suddenly halfway? Are the rails gunked up with debris, dirt, etc?

 

you try closing it manually with the sun roof tool?

 

i had this happen too and there was stuff in the rails stoping the roof from closeing all the way

 

check and see if you can see a bid piece of metal that goes across the length of the sunroof that you can move. if it seems to be sticking out a bit push it in and that should do the trick. My friends 01 accord's sunroof wouldn't even open till i did that

 

the motor should stop if it draws too much current. as others have mentioned, the rails are obstructed and need to be cleaned and lubed
