99 Accord Coupe: My rear brake lights will not turn off!
I turn off the car and they are still shining at full intensity. I have tried to restart the car and drive around, turn on and off the headlights, but nothing.
The key is out of the ignition, the car is locked and the rear brake lights are still shining.
I did briefly speak with my mechanic and he mentioned something about "switch" or "module" under the brake pedal of the car that controls that.
Does anyone have any idea as to how I may be able to fix this? I had to take out the corresponding fuse so I don't waste my battery.

check the on the brake pedal where the brake switch makes contact with the pedal and see if the rubber pad is either broken or missing, and i'm assuming you can take the shifter out of park with out pressing the brake.....
Holy crap, I just checked and found this little circular "rubbery" piece broken in like 3 parts. Is that it?
Now I can't shift out of parking. It's like you know exactly what's happening! What should I do!
