Im looking at a 93 si jdm rhd from tigerautoparts.com can i register a jdm rhd in nys??? And anybody ever import a car from canada hard easy???

 

Ive had people tell me on canadian forums its very easy to get a car in canada from japan. Infact thats a popular method of getting them registered in the states. Instead of paying all the fees, Some people go to or have some one in canada import the car Scince registering it with a canadian vin number is much easyer than it is down here, They then bring the car down to the states WITH the canadian vin number. As far as the the DMV is concered its a canadian car so it can be transferred very easily due to the Free Trade Agreement. There are alot of Acura ELs up int he northern states and they are very easy to register in the states and that was a canadian car only. So this would be no different. To them it would just be another canadian car. they never go and look at the car to see if its RHD or not they just get your vin and convert it to an american vin then your set to go.
when i get some extra money id like to do that with a Honda orthia wagon with awd or a civic Rtsi 4wd i have a few freinds in canada that would beable to get them registared for me

you must check with your DMV im not sure what they call it in canada and find out the process Ive never imported a car before up there but ive known people that have. However i dont know what they did to do it. All i know is they told me comparitivly its alot easyer because its a commonwealth nation. on top of that I have no clue why it is easyer but the DMV (department of motor vehicles) would know how to register it.. But there are already alot of JDM vehicles there already you may find one thats already registared. Check on the site that he posted. those are already shipped. The place i was looking had a 1500 dollar if you got a single car but 2200 dollar shipping costfor 2 cars per container if the car is in japan here is a site you can get cars direct. www.tradecarview.com another is Japan-partner.com . another thought would be check online In the US they have our Automobile imporation regulations posted on a gov website and it goes thru what cars you can and cant import Your country should have something similar. Pry not nearly as indepth as ours because our GOV is money greedy .. thats the only reason it cost so much to import a car directly to the US.. If you use the Middle man such as your country it makes it easyer on us lol.. but for you guys its alot easyer.

 

ive also heard people taking buying JDM CARS and going to a local junk yard and taking the vin number off of a junked one and claim it was rebuilt that way the vin number never has to be switched from JDM. thats also a popular way to go in the US Very illegal but popular. The newere vehicles such as EK civics are harder to get in the US since they arent 15 years of age yet
