Default Whats wrong with my windsheild wiper?

recently the first turn wipers failed...? the second click works fine also the third turn and when you spray the wiper fluid it will go on automatically & still works perfectly the only thing that doesn't work is the first click the slow every 5 secs wipe doesn't work. anyone whats wrong thanks!!!

the switch is broken... you need to get a new or a surplus would do

Either the wiper switch is bad or the thing behind the fuse box is.

first click as in low speed or int?
int - I'd check the module plugged into the back of the fuse box.

low - if the wiper returns to the bottom of the windshield when you turn it off mid wipe, then it's likely a switch problem.
This is for an EG, but I'd done the same on EKs. http://www.b18c5eg.com/how2/wiperswitch/ - (this could resolve the int issue as well)

i have the same problem. the int doesnt work. and when i turn my wipers off they stop where ever they are at. they dont go back down i have to mess with it to get them down. i got a switch from the junkyard and still the same thing. any other solutions?

Wow, such a mix of helpful and unhelpful advice here. I'd check out the switch as Relic1 suggests. Check out this DIY link by danomatic: DIY Combination Switch Fix (Headlight Switch) AND Wiper Combo Switch

I doubt it's the ICU module behind the fuse box ... also doubt it's the wiper motor itself, but these are all potential other locations where the problem could reside. Try the switch fix first ... swap in a known good if you can before you fix it to save yourself some time.
