1990 crx hf not getting spark to #1 cylinder
I've changed the cap and rotor, as well as the wires. The timing light doesn't go off on #1 about 85% of the time. I know from checking o my other vehicle that the light will flash even if you don't have the wire connected to the plug, so it can't be a bad plug. For some reason, the distributor isn't sending spark to the #1 cylinder. The only thing I may have done is to try to install a mileage gauge which required tapping into the #1 fuel injector wire. I never did get that thing to work right, either. I will, one day, though. Then we'll see what kind of mileage I can get.
Anybody have any ideas. Know where I can get a wiring diagram to try to figure out what could be messed up?
Thanks, Gas.

Try pulling out the #1 spark plug wire and put a spark plug at the end of it. Make sure the top of the spark plug is resting on a grounded surface. Then start the car. You will then see if it's sparking or not.
Are you running stock sized wires or aftermarket larger ones? I have seen where a timing light won't pick up the signal from like 8mm and larger wires. They would have to swap out a OEM size plug wire so the timing light will flash for them to time their motor.
Is the car running properly or is it running on 3 cylinders?

New wires, but who cares about that? It would never have occurred to me to think of a bad wire in a new set. It was, though. Runs great, now.
Thanks, Gas.
BTW I never knew that about the 8mm wires. Good to know.
