bilsteins rear shock question
"The bilsteins are me as well. The bolt is stuck in there. I cut both
ends off to remove them and a press wouldn't take it out. As I said it
will probably need to be drilled out. Apart from that they are fine
and very good quality shocks. If you chose to have them revalved
bilstein may be able to replace the entire bushings."
well, this is the email i got from a local guy selling rear bilstein shocks.
for $80... *EDIT: $20*
good deal? i have no idea. i know nothing about the shocks.
better than oem i hope.
...
anyways, he says the bolt is stuck in there. has anyone ever had their shocks re-valved? what am i looking at spending?
better off just buying new suspension?

where are the fronts? would be a great deal for all 4. bilstein revalves corvette shocks for $100ea, not sure about these. can't imagine them being much different. very very nice when you get into 500+lb/in springs that OTS shocks just aren't valved for
EDIT! They are actually only $10 each. Only has the rears though.
So basically paying $110 per shock.
Bilstein HD shocks imported from Japan. They use the stamped JDM (or Integra Type-R / 88 Civic & CRX) type lower control arms.

BUY THEM ! at ten each that's a deal. call bilstein when you get a chance and chat about valving. if you knew your cars weight and spring rate they can hook you up with some sick shocks. i've personally seen their monotube shocks handle 850lb springs with no trouble when they have been revalved. or if you drive on the street and run something normal they can do that as well. if they aren't blown and haven't been worn out you might just get two fronts and roll the set. personally stock HDs seem kind of light to me but with tame rates they would be pretty decent. stock vs stock the koni sport is better but you can easily revalve the bilsteins for less than koni wants.
