RL2 Visits Pleasanton - Roadtrip!

RL2 Visits Pleasanton - Roadtrip!
I know my :pics: are long over due, so here they are along with a quick play by play of the weekend.
11:00PM - Meet up with Ferdie, owner of the RL2 Mazda Protoge and head out on the I-5 North towards Six Flags, where we're supposed to rendezvous with the rest of the group.
**Special Note** Ferdie had just gotten a big brake kit installed prior to the trip.
11:50ish PM - Ferdie's car jolts up and quickly smashes to the ground as his passenger side wheel hurls off into the bushes and his car grinds to a halt on the side of the road. His new studs were improperly installed which resulted in this...
The rest of the group pulls up shortly after, followed by two CHP cruisers who assist us in searching for his lost wheel and keep him company as the rest of us need to continue on to Nor Cal. One of the cops even helped jump start my car after giving an odd stare into my engine bay
"Nothing to see here - more along."
1:00AM - Our first pit stop for gas and snacks.
5:00AM - A few pit stops later, the sun finally peeks up over the horizon.
Back on the road again...
6:30AM - Yet another pit stop... can't believe I haven't fallen asleep at the wheel yet.
8:00AM - Breakfast time! McDonalds pit stop.
11:00AM - We finally make it to the hotels, unpack and set off to clean the cars...
4:00PM - An hour before the gates close, we make it to the staging area
and setup our cars for the show tomorrow.
5:30PM - Everything is setup. Time to go back to the hotels!
We get some well deserved rest, and then have a hearty breakfast for the day ahead!
2:00PM - Showtime!
We took home 5 awards!
Time to go home...
Fun times. :grouphug:
All in all, great trip. We took home five awards, won the UTI Spark Plug Challenge, and the owner of the Evolution X was interviewed for a TV spot on Speed Channel!
