Best spoiler for my EK?
are you looking for aftermarket or oem? If aftermarket, then I would find something that is a good spoon replica and has an actual 3rd brake light attached to it. Unless you want to spend money on the real spoon one. If your going to stay oem, then I would suggest a stock dx rear spoiler.
It's a hatch, I didnt know the EK was anyhting but.
Anyways I already have the stock DX spoiler, the spoon one is nice, I like how it flares up more gives the car more curves.
see this is mine

this is mines.. its a spoon replica but it has a 3rd brake light and thats why I got it.. You cant really see it in this picture but Ill look for another one to show you..

Some people like the stock dx look. I prefer that too and would probably keep it if my car started off as a dx but it started off as a cx so I had the small plastic spoiler instead.

personally the third light i like better on an ag hatch!!! but for the ek i would rather go with the jdm ctr wing!!! theres just something i like about that wing that gets my attention!!! this is a pick from a fellow HT member
If coupe, than OEM coupe spoiler. If hatch, then whatever that small OEM duckbill spoiler is called... not the gigantic one that sticks way up.
fartkiller, or anyone else. could you please measure the length of your stock Dx spoiler? from the centre of the car to the brake light thanks, i edited the spoon pic to show where i would like the measurement taken thanks.

Edit: i measured mine and it is 8 inches so is that a cx or dx spoiler? thanks

go with the spoon sports duckbill.. its less obnoxious than anything out there and personally looks the best.
just whatever you do dont get a spoiler that looks like your part of drag force and could lift off to the moon

I'm planning on getting a spoon for my spring/summer look and ctr for fall/winter since I like both

OP, real EKs include hatches and sedans, but here in the US the term "EK" is used to refer to '96-'00 Civics in general or just '96-'00 Civic hatches.
The vagueness of this term is specifically why I don't usually use it.
As far as Spoon spoilers, I've always heard the replicas fit better than the real deal ones.
I think the choose in spoiler really depends on what else is done to the car. For example, a totally stock car won't look right with a Mugen spoiler, but with the right mods it can look really good.
By the way, it is US law for all passenger cars (not trucks - that came later) from the model year 1986 and newer to have a working third brake light.
For the CTR spoiler being too big, the car in question (white car posted above) has brackets that angle the spoiler up. Luckily they don't point up like that unless modified.
The CX and DX spoilers look different and are constructed differently from one another. The measurement isn't that important since they can be IDed so easily without measurement.
The CX spoiler is all plastic and comes unpainted (black) from the factory. This spoiler is stubby.
The DX spoiler is metal on top (this part is painted to match the car) and unpainted (black) plastic on the underside. This spoiler is longer than the CX spoiler. This spoiler is the same as the ones occasionally sold as "SiR" spoilers.
They both have third brake lights integrated into the underside of the spoiler.
