s2k audio controls
this might be a dumb question but im new to the s2k game. I just bought an 01 s2k and it already had an aftermarket cd deck in it. The audio controls on the left side of the steering wheel dont work. does that have to do with the cd deck? or the harness? I know its not really that big of a deal, i would just like to be able to use them haha
If you would have searched you would have found the info you were looking for...
You cannot just wire up the controls to your aftermarket HU. You need a DCI (as linked below) or similar devise. PAC makes one for the S2000 as well but I highly recommend (and run) the modifry.

Sometimes...a lot of times, you want to be able to switch quickly between listening to music and listening to 9000rpm. And having to take your eyes off the road and opening the stereo cover, and finding the volume ****...it might be a couple seconds but if you're driving S2000 like you should be, that makes a huge difference.
And then if you're standing at a light with the top down, chances are someone will roll down their window and ask what car you're driving. Again, if you're listening to music and need to open the cover and find that ****...just looking down to do this might be the difference between them still smiling or not when you come back with an answer. If it was a nice chick, sometimes you'd be willing to spend a $1000 to get that moment back.
Being able to hit "mute" without having to take your hand off the steering wheel, that's a brilliant design on Honda engineers' parts.
So yeah, get the modifry now, or you WILL regret it.
lmao true that haha, the other night some old guy asked if it was a mazda... i was insaulted haha jk im thinkin about just findin a stock deck, although i like listenin to my ipod in the car haha
oh damn i didnt know that, i was pagin thro the owners manual an form the pics the stock deck looked like the stock deck in my moms 00 civic lol..... like i said im a newb at this s2k thing haha

I just joined this site and ran across this thread. I installed an aftermarket JVC head unit and lost the remote functions on the dash and didn't know where or how I could hook them back up until I found this. I compared the PAC to the DCI and prefer the DCI as well..thanks a lot
