Default Custom 3" dp and exhaust done!

Well, finally the custom 3" dp and exhaust is done, it was a real pain in the *** but it worked out perfectly since my welder is one of the best around. I do however have to modify the rear muffler becuase it hangs down a little too low, but that shouldnt take too long to shorten the hangers. Anyways, heres some pics.

I almost like that better than my mugen. Very nice.
What are these though.

Oh never mind down pipe from the header.
Nice job.
Are you going to have a cat on that, look like you're not.

That DP seems to be running really close to the alternator...Are you doing anything to block the heat from the Alternator? I have heard that the excessive heat from the DP can cause alternator failer. Other than that, looks good

Very Nice! are you still using your drag gen II mani? I see you got your wastegate flange attached a flange on the dp..that some nice work there..must have taken alot of time measuring it up.

yea the exhaust wasnt that bad, the downpipe was the real bitch of the whole task. the heat shield right now is ghetto fabulous, next weekend i plan on taking it back to my buddy and we'll shorten the hangers to raise the exhaust about 1-2 inches as well as fabricate a heat shield that will cover the downpipe near the altenator as well as cover the exhaust housing of the turbo. as far as coating it, if you guys can give me some products or companies that are reputable i would greatly appreciate it, i kind of want to stay away from thermal wrapping it this time so i can show off the custom downpipe that was fabricated. the ghetto fabulous heat shield that i made today showed significant heat reduction coming from the front of the engine which will be good for my 4 hour commute back to college tomorrow as well as save my cf hood from going to hell.

Hey Gude, where'd you get your fluidyne radiator? I have only seen fluidynes for the 5th gens, can we use those or do they make one for the 4th gen preludes? Or maybe that's the accord radiator?
THanks!

you could try and get it coated by jet hot. But, I have no idea what the price on that would be. Or you could try and get a sheet of thermal reflective material they use to cover Intakes and cover the shield with that. Anyway, good luck and let us know how it goes. Post pics when your done too!

the tail lights are OEM, but i removed the amber section of them and replaced them with a clear sheet of material used for ceiling lighting. hondaprelude.com had a great article on how to do this but unfortunately its not there anymore... In the next 2-3 weeks i hope to have EVERYTHING finished on my car for the NOPI nationals so ill be posting up more pics in the upcoming days/weeks.

GudeH23,
Nice, I plan on ordering 3" elbows and getting a Muffler shop to finish the rest.
I run the Drag Gen III turbo kit at 7psi... I was wondering what your "Butt Dyno" showed in power gain with the 3" exhaust? I hear it will help but no one states that its "badass gains"!
let me know.
E

The hardest part of the dp is the flange that connects to the turbo, the flange i got from drag kept warping when the 90deg bend was welded to it, it might be a good idea to have a custom flange made from thicker steel. as far as the piping, you can order the u-bends from summit racing for 18 bucks a bend, they are dynomax mandrel bent 3" U-bends. as far as dyno, im still breaking the motor in and ill have it dyno tuned probably mid to late september, hopefully ill put down 400 or so to the wheels. and yes, it is a gs-r fluidyne radiator with custom lower mounting brackets.
