Default Custom 3" DP and Exhaust DONE!!!

Well, finally the custom 3" dp and exhaust is done, it was a real pain in the *** but it worked out perfectly since my welder is one of the best around. I do however have to modify the rear muffler becuase it hangs down a little too low, but that shouldnt take too long to shorten the hangers. Anyways, heres some pics.

I like it! I will post pics of the 3" GB stuff that was bought from VRS as soon as I can get it here and welded.

looks nice except for the way the wastegate dumps into the dp. Do you get boost creep with that? If you ever get boost creep and wonder what it is, more likely than not, it is how the wg dumps into the dp. As it is now, wg exhaust has to force its way into the dp against the flow of dp gas. an easier transition into the dp would cure this. just check out SCCs article on how they safely turboed a 11.1 compression matrix. looks nice though.

i know all about the boost creep issue, thank you for pointing that out though. even with a 3" dp you can increase your chance of boost creep. anyways, i was sick of running an open wastegate and decided closed loop was the best route for me to go for several different reasons. as you see, i dont have very much clearance in my engine compartment...

the fuel set up turned out really nice, it took a while to get all the proper fittings and what not... but it was worth it. The only problem i had was with my fuel pressure regulator, under 2k rpm the car would bog down really bad, i turned the fp up to abou 50psi and it would be a little better but at idle it would die out. so i put the FMU back on until i run the 4b.

its the drag gen 2 manifold, next summer i plan on running a custom tubular one that will allow more space as well as moving the dp away from being so close to the altenator. everything is from a drag gen 2 kit basically, with upgraded turbo and a diff dp. what kind of pictures do you want? give me the angle shots and ill hook ya up

Hey GudeH23a,
I was wonderin' how your lil' exhaust project was comin' along. Looks like you've just about got it all wrapped up. Nice job fella!

thanks man, all i have to do now is make a nice heat shield to protect the altenator and cover up the exhaust housing on my turbo, then modify the exhaust hangers to raise it up a little bit.
