Well it finally happend to me, I broke my first motor mount on my RSX type S. It is the mount on the passenger side. It broke, and thier is now this purple/brown liquid around it and on the hood. Here are a few pics of it.

And here is the liquid that came from the motor mount and went onto the hood and all around the mount.

It sucks, but I am going to buy a new motor mount and repair it this week, damn and school starts this week too.. ggrrr... more money.. oh well. Good luck guys.

To answer everyones questions about how I broke the motor mount is that I do not know. I have not ran it hard in a long time. Just the usual drives on the freeway.
But the thing that I do not understand is what that liquid stuff is on the mount and on the hood. Just today it started to shake the car harder then usual, a slight shake and not very noticeable but I noticed it. When I checked under the hood I found the mount in that condition.

And to let everyone know, this is my second motor. Yes, I know it was a stupid mistake but it was my fault and the mechanics that worked on it and that is why I ws issued another K20a2. I'll tell the story to anyone who wants to hear through PM.

When I got my new motor back from the dealership which was 1 month and 28 days. I noticed the same liquid around the mount and when I would shift sometimes I would hear a loud pop coming from the same mount that is now busted. I took it back to acura and they told me it was nothing and that they did not hear it. So I when about my daily business. But each time the liquid was getting worse and worse. It would gather little by little. And I took it back to acura and they told me not to worry about it and that it was just fluid that spilled out from when they replaced the engine.

Well now the mount is broken and the liquid is everywhere. It got on the under side of the hood, all around the mount and it shot out and got on my valve cover and the plastic cover. I called Tim at Bell Acura and made an appointment to have them look and repair it. I told them about the mount and what's going on.

But here is the weird thing. When I examined the mount closer I noticed the bolt was completely lose, I mean when I reved the motor the bolt was coming off.. WTF??? I called Tim and told him this just to let him know about it. I have since tightend the bolt for safety reasons and awating the appointment which is on Tuesday. So for now my type S is out of commision. I will post more on Tuesday and let you all know what happened.

f1nal zeros...i have designed that mount and it is in our 2002 Si with RSX-S swap..we are waiting for one part of it to be finished for production wich should be in the next couple of weeks. We are in Phoenix if you would like to stop by and see the proto type in our Si.
The new replacement mount is billet aluminum with a steel housing. It is a complete bolt in! Hit me up here if you have any other Q's hasport_bp@hotmail.com

dang sorry to hear that bro....but its prolly due to ******* on the motor...hard launches , and those runs , and burnouts on the drag strip....the motor mounts in most new honda nowdays are hydrolic....excpet for the civic, it still is a rubber mount....but accords , TL's , oddesys , etc have hydrolic engine mounts which sits the engine on a rubber mount that is filled with fluid....it seems acura didnt seat the mount rightm, and it was leaking

that is not your fault....you shoudl take this matter up with them....i know they use hydro engone mounts to decrease vibration , and make the car feel smoother, but i dont know how good it is performance wise...look into what Haspost has to offer, i'm sure they are always one step ahead.....they always are

All hondas nowadays use what is a called a liquid filled engine mount. it pertains to both ride comfort and safety. that should be the purplish goo. id take it back back to acura and say, " remember that problem you couldnt find?" and try and make them do it under warranty. but who knows, after working at a dealership, even a good one, they cheap out on what they can.

Well bro, I do not do burnouts in my car, a waste of time and rubber IMO. If they ain't slicks don't burn out . And I have not raced in a while and I have not been ******* my car. I have actually been doing daily driving for a while now. As for HASports mount, I have just PM him and I will be emailing him since I see his post is 1 which makes me believe he doesnt come on here..lol.. Im interested in the mounts they have for the car. Im taking the car to the dealership tommorrow morning and going to have them check it out. So I will keep you posted guys.

Bro's....i come on here alot...but most of the content is bs and its hard to make time to post replys to that crap....ive found time to post though and i would like to help out and talk trash where ever i can ......i designed these mounts for our 02 Si with RSX-S swap to be featured in the SEMA issue of Sport Compact Car, they are not needed to do the swap but there are stronger and its good to see that the RSX's are breaking just like I thought they would folowing in the foot steps of the driver side 94+ integra and 96-01 civic....liquid filled is for your grannies caddy.

so, mount up hookers....the best of the best are...ask Erick of Ericks racing 10.59 all motor and our mounts putting all that power down http://www.ericksracing.com

Ok guys I got some information on the mount. I took it into the dealership and they took a look at it and just called me like 10 minutes ago. Turns out it was a busted motor mount and that purple/brown liquid was from the mount. They told me that the passenger mount is liquid filled.. man I never knew that

They have to order the part and it will take about a week for them to get it in. oh well, I guess I can wait. I asked if the car was still drivable ( I want to be safe before I try and drive it) and they said that it was still drivable, just for me not to do burn outs or anything like that.. I have never done a burn out in my car, a waste of money and rubber IMO. If they are not slicks don't burn them out.

So I will be getting my RSX-S back at 5:30pm today. I still need it to get to work and school, so I will baby it for a week .

But I just know I will find more people wanting to race me this week then ever before. It never fails, when you look for a race you don't find crap, but when you can't race you get hit up by everyone and their momma. Oh well, I can resist....I think.. hehhe..

I heard of that happening when you do a burn out and get wheel hop, and continue to stay on the gas during the hopping. Might want to check all your mounts bro. Hope they get it fixed ASAP so you can have your wheels back.

warning!!!! mando , i know it wont be easy, but dont race anybody....a busted engine mount is bad, they should give you a loaner....but if you baby it , its ok, but dont race anybody...the engine is not designed to move and flex that much inside the engine bay, with the busted mount , not only will it make wheel hop...it could move so much to hit the firewall, or damage other components, be careful.....

Don't worry bro I will not be racing. I figured they would give me a loaner, but they said my car was ok to drive around as long as I did not do burn outs or race anyone, LOL kind of funny when he told me this. I do not do burn outs in my car anyways.
As for the racing part I know I will be tempted but I will just think about the engine before I even remotely consider it. But the answer will always be NO . I have already been reved on like a million times by rice and a few cars I would have run if my car was at 100%, but I just ignored them all and went along with my business. I only use my car to take my *** to school and to work then straight home. Other then that my girlfriend takes me around, or I borrow my brothers Type R. So either way I always have another means of transportation. But thanks for the information on the matter bro.
