Red deposits under valve cover
Ok well im working on my sisters 96 accord with a f22b2.... i was planning on just doing the basics like spark plugs but the spark plug tubes are full of oil. i went to the FAQ and found a link to solve that... the question i have though is the whole head assembly has a deep red deposit on it. i mean this is like blood red.. does anyone have any idea on what this could be
Can you post a picture?
If the underside of the V cover is a redish varnish colour it is normal sludge/varnish. The oil breaks down and leaves deposits on the cover as it heats up. It's normal for it to be a redish brown.
