so yeah, i love moonroofs, but i have an lx and it dont have one.. . and i have seen posts every were saying that they got aftermarket moonroof, what i want to know is how much would that be installed and were i can get it done.

 

I would be scared to try it you obviously have to cut a hole in your roof. Well I dunno man but good luck!

 

yeah thats why i want someone that does it all the time, so they get it right.

 

Once you get all the parts I would really consider taking it to a shop or something, because you have to get the cuts perfect and also your gonna need some paint to prevent rusting. Try not to half-*** it atleast thats what I would do

Oh sweet man that a good idea to do it now while your car is unpainted so when you do go to paint it your all set. I would like a moon roof as well but it might look kinda gay on my EK =P

 

find a totaled ex sedan and chop the roof off, mesaure yours and cut as well, weld, add ex harness, wire up,grind welds, bondo, sand, primer,paint,

no guess on total cost but its going to be alot, and most likly something you would want to do alot of the work becuase its not going to be cheep.
also you will need, motor, abovulys soon roof, headliner from ex, and switches.

 

i dont know all the people i know with ek's have lx's so i have never seen one with at moon roof.

but looking around right now some one got it done for $1500, which is way too much, i will have to keep looking

 

its looking like geting a ex shell would be cheaper to get...

 

How much are you willing to spend for everything?

 

i have never done one on a civic but have on a few GM A bodies (monte carlo, olds cutlass, etc) its not too hard, measure 5 to 6 times for the cut cause once its cut, its cut for life, just make sure you get a decent kit to start with and you should be good, they come with a paper cutting guide, i find it easy to hold that to car with magnets use a crayon or some form of wax marker for the cut, because the roof vibrates when cutting, also remove the headliner before you cut the roof, and make sure the wireing for the dome light is out of the way... but overall its rather easy, just make sure you get a 'sandwich' type ( the top and bottom parts 'sandwich' the roof, as opposed to screwing into the roof itself) they usually seal better, in my experience. but overall its not a difficult thing to do, big thing is patience, and time, make sure you have a few hours to do it right...

oh and every kit i have used is usually $400-500... and its a 3-4hour job with no rushing...
