Default Accord new IM

Hey guys. Im new here. Hope someone can help me out. I have a 91 Accord LX. Im replacing the engine myself and wanted to bolt on some things to get a little more power from the F22a1. My friend told me i could bolt on an H22 intake manifold and get a little more power because it flows better due to variable runners. I bought one and started swapping things from my old IM to the new one. Ive noticed the various air valves are in different spots and, im going to need to provide vacuum to the variable runner valve. My questions are... Does it matter how i route the coolant hoses to the various valves? Where's the ideal place to run my vacuum line from for the intake butterfly valves? and finally, Is it possible if, installed wrong, i could be dumping coolant into my runners when the cars running? I know there are some serious Honda ninjas out there. Please help! Thanks so much guys.

as i've recently learned myself, the actuator doesn't just run off of manifold vacuum, it routes to a black control box. you can find one on preludes or F22A6 equipped accords. i'm assuming it would need the F22A6 computer to run it effectively...

i wouldn't recommend running hoses where ever seems most convenient.. try to find a good pic of both the F22A1 and H22 so you can compare the routing side by side. they should be very similar, but that will let you see what moves to where.

lastly, my understanding was that H22 runners don't bolt up without modification. i personally have bolted H23 runners to a F22A1 head so i know those work. have you tried fitting this manifold up to the head yet to make sure it works?

Thanks for the suggestions. I believe the intake is from an H23. It bolts right up, the EGR ports line up as well as the runners. The only thing coming off the actuator for the intake butterflies is the vacuum nipple. There are no electrical connectors or sensors. Has anyone ever heard or no of someone having coolant finding its way into the combustion chamber from somewhere in the manifold?

as long as coolant hoses are hooked where coolant hoses go (and not where vacuum hoses go...) there will be no coolant in the manifold.

i realize there is only a vacuum nipple on the actuator, a vacuum line should lead from there to a black box which mounts under the manifold... this thread touches on it:
