this was quite a surprise for me, i took the valve cover off today to do some maintenance, valve adjustment, inspect timing belt, cam seal, etc. I bought this car in june and it was maintained like crap, but this is stunning compared to what my neon looked like well maintained at 90k

vs

funny part is, i see no score marks in the cam lobes, they are so shiny i can see my reflection in them, the cam i took out of my neon was horrible looking, with scratches all down the contact areas, the new cam that went in to the neon, looks much similar too.

yah i was shocked to see how well it looked seeing as how poor everything else was, even the timing belt looks to be in great condition, it has good tension, isnt look or weak, no damage to the belt itself, or any evidence of heavy wear.
