Anyone have a clue what this could be, help??
Ok, I have a 94 integra GSR and i know i need to change the drivers side axle it vibrates slightly under power but i don't think the axle caused this but i'm unsure..
Ok, i was driving to work maybe 45mph or so and i get this hissing sound on my drivers side front on the bad axle side. It sounded just like i was getting a flat tire so i sped up to make it to a pull off I stopped the car and get out to check it out but no hissing sound at all, so i moved the car up a inch or so, still nothing... Then i pulled back out onto the main road and the hissing flat tire sound is gone but now its making a dragging/grinding sound. I continue to drive it like that about 2 miles to the 7-11. I turn my wheel all the way left and see if i can see anything, but nothing. I then drive it a mile to work and home this evening with no issues or noises other then the slight axle vibration i've felt the past few weeks.
I jacked the car up and checked the strut out by picking the wheel up and down it seems fine with no leaking.
What coulda caused this and what else can i check for??

Wiggle your wheel while the car is jacked up. If it wiggles up and down it would be the wheel bearing.

Hire scooby and the gang, they are great at finding out the meaning behind ghost noises.
But for real, the hissing obviously says pressure is leaking into a cavity that resonates sound to the cockpit, which could be a number of things that are pressurized in your car. i.e. struts ... what have you. That in itself is a problem worth hiring a professional imho. Then to have it grind and drag like you said, you should definetly let someone who really knows what they are doing take a look at it. If it comes back that is ..
If i had to try and put my finger on it from your description i would hoesntly say a loose wheel cowling or mudflap. Those loose plastic parts can get loose sometimes and scrape the wheel and then pop back into place.
Good luck with your issue, keep us updated!

"Tire and Wheel-Bearing Noise Tire noise usually shows up as a whine due to abnormal tread wear or a thumping sound caused by ply separation. Tire replacement is required to correct these problems. Wheel-bearing noise is produced by dry, worn wheel bearings. The bearing will make a steady humming type sound. This is due to the rollers or ***** being damaged from lack of lubrication and are no longer smooth. To check for a worn wheel bearing, raise and secure the vehicle, and rotate the tire by hand. Feel and listen carefully for bearing roughness. Also, wiggle the tire back and forth to check for bearing looseness. It may be necessary to disassemble the wheel bearing to verify the problem"
The question compounds... :\
