Default Low-Fuel Light

I am installing an EE9 gauge cluster into my 1990 Dx hatchback and I'm wanting to make the low fuel light operational. I understand that the light works on a thermistor located on the sending unit that does not exist on the oem 1990 dx sending unit. What I'm trying to do is source an EDM or JDM sending unit that has the 3 pin connector, 2 for the fuel level and the 3rd for the low fuel thermistor.

If I am unsuccessful in finding the EDM/JDM sending unit my second idea was to use the 90-93 Integra thermistor and/or sending unit in the 1990 civic gas tank. I see looking at both sending units in their respective service manuals that they look somewhat different.

Has anyone attempted to make this work? And what did you do? Thanks in advance.

I was always under the idea you could run a 92-95 Sender that had low fuel light on it. Just add the wiring. But that was something i read on a CRX board years ago.

I was trying to determine what part interchangability I could attempt so that I didn't have to retrofit a sender with the thermistor off of another, not sure how well that would work anyway.

It's been so long since I've owned a 92-95 civic I wasn't even sure any of that generation had a low fuel warning light. If thats the case then I will just try to source one of those because I can't imagine the tank is a much different size. Do all the 92-95 civics have this on their sending unit?

Anyone else have any input on this? I'm pretty sure someone has done this before, just looking for suggestions. I want it to be as clean an install as possible.
