Icon6 Short spindles to lower CRX

Have any of you guys got shorter spindles to lower your rides? or have any of you made any fabrication to slam your CRX? My upper control arm are hting the shock towers, and I have the coilovers, and my wheel is still about 1.5 inches from the fender.

Thanks

trim your shock towers with a grinder if you need the extra clearance...just fyi your car is gonna ride like crap if your going to slam it especially if your planning on using coilover sleeves...i personally would just add an air suspension so that way you could lift and go when you please...!!!

never seen those before. i know some people just cut the top of the tower, those would make much more sense.

Has anyone cut their towers to get more suspension travel?
Pictures anyone?
Thanks

Do you have integra front spindles? I just put a set on that were supposedly civic sir ones.... they are 5/8 taller and I can't keep the uca's off my freshly painted shock towers either. I'm going to have to invest in good suspension now.

THose knuckles look good, I wonder how they work, and price?

I know this is a bit retarded, but has anyone cut and rewelded the top arm of the knuckle?

You can find pics of shock towers cut in the slammed thread but it sounds like you may just have to buy some good stiff suspension, because chances are your going to have some issues if your hitting when your that high now.

Sounds like you need some shorter springs not shorter spindles. You don't need to have the on the ground.

Sorry, I forgot to say that I don't like to go to air suspension. But even then, the air suspension replaces the shocks and not the uper control arm or the knuckles, which brings me back to that part of the suspension hitting the tower.
Correct me if I'm wrong please.
Thanks

Don't feel alone there, I was asking myself the same question: What if I just cut the spindle arms and weld them a little sorter?
I'll go look up the slammed thread for the pictures thanks.

^ surefire way to dick up your suspension geometry.....but if you are going THAT low, then your already hosed.

meh....

Somewhere I read that the gap between the fender and the tire should not be higher than the hight of the tire. I'm running 205/40/17s. and the distance right now is almost the same. Only problem there is only a 1 inch gap between the uper control arm and the shock tower, and it hits it every time I go over a little bump. I see all this low cars, especially CRX's and I don"t think the all bottom out every time. And I see this even lower ones that even if I removed the shocks completly and let my car sit as low as it could go, it would not look as low as them. There must be some kind of fabrication going on or something.

sired, in a way in my case my geometry is already dicked up with my **** teg knuckles now. but yes, messing with stock knuckles by shortening would maybe be bad news. Still a nice idea for the teg knuckle crew though.

OP, your situation seems really weird, theres no way your uca should be that close with a stock knucle. are you sure they are stock?

they seem stock. I'll take some pictures with and without the fender.

coilovers work fine for slamming a crx my car is slamed on skunk 2 coils and tokiko 5 ways, it has 205 40 16 on it and i have more trouble with my down pipe hitting than my suspension bottoming out.

Something may be wrong with my car then, I wish I cold se a slamed CRX side by side with mine. B the way my CRX has a H22A, I know it is heavier but the slamed part is the same.
