Default d16y8 swap

i have a 89 honda civic. i was gonna swap the block from d16a6 to d16y8. then looked into turning it in to mpfi instead of dpfi.and found out i can use the y8 im for the swap. in this case could i jus swap the whole motor and wire up the vtec???? would i still need the si ecu, dizzy, throttle cable and resistor box????

since you got the d16a6 bottom end and parts of the d16y8 head you should probably look into a mini-me swap...here's a great write up below if you want to take that route...!!!

its not carburated, someone already covered that. its a dpfi manifold. there are 2 injectors (note: carbs don't have injectors). one primary and one auxilliary injector.

sure can. convert from dpfi to mpfi

http://hondaswap.com/swap-articles/d...writeup-49557/

Get yourself an obd0-obd1 ecu jumper and a p28. then run the wires into the engine bay for the 4 wire o2 and vtec.

Heres what i would do, Convert it to mpfi either your self or rywire. use your mounts you have now to put the y8 in and get energy suspension inserts, you have to use the tranny from the a6, and use a dizzy from a d15b7 or b8 (92-95 civic dx/lx), then order a obd0-obd1 ecu jumper harness and dizzy jumper then get a p28 with a basemap for a y8 then youll have some vtec

if you already have the obd0-obd1 ecu jumper then get a rywire mpfi harness and i can make you a dizzy jumper, it converts the obd0 distributor plug to the new obd1 dizzy
