Default Vtec not working on my LS-V

I have a ls-v motor in my ek hatch. its got a b18a1 block with a b18c1 head and p72 ecu, im starting to think that my ecu or vtec solenoid is broken. my cel is flashing 6 and 10. from what i know is water temp and the air intake lines? other than that everything looks like its running good. only leak i have is a cam seal leak. if anyone can help me out in any way it would be great.

Check oil level, oil pressure, bad solenoid, blocked solenoid screen.

hrmmm... then it wouldnt be an ls-vtec if your vtec isnt working eh? har har har.. jk..
Well, seeing that your using a b18a1 block means that it doesnt have a knock sensor. The p72 or gsr ecu requires a knock sensor!!!! unless it is a chipped obd1 p72 ecu that bypasses the knocksensor or you installed a knock sensor on the b18a1 block. All Gsr blocks come with a knocksensor tapped in the back from the factory. Therefore the knock sensor is your problem because it relates to vtec. You sure your not getting any knock sensor codes like CEL 23??

hmm, im gonna have to talk to my brother about that one. but im sure im not getting cel 23. what my cel does is flash 6 times quite fast and doesnt stay on for a long time. then i get one flash that stays on for about 3-4 seconds or something.

well either way you wont have vtec untill you get your codes fixed, ecu doesn't allow vtec to work unless everything is working "perfectly"

thats not true.. the only thing that is going to stop vtec from working is the vtec solenoid, vtec pressure switch, and knock sensor CEL. Other things include low oil and your vss not working.
CEL 21, 22, 23, and possibly 17

make sure your IAT or intake air temperature sensor is plugged in. Thats not going to cause vtec to not work but its an easy fix and its important. Its the one on your manifold and is a round 2 pin plug.

No, no...comon people! An ECT (water temp)
Cel will cause vtec to fail. I had a code 6
(ECT) and my vtec didn't work so I searched
And found out it was the problem. Also, just
For the record, a bad vss will keep vtec from
Working.
