Default PWJDM PC Intake for 06+ Si

so about mid week last week i got the email confirming the release of the passwordjdm power chamber intake for our si's. now there's a special pre-order price which includes the following.

1.) Intake (obviously)
2.) Odyssey Battery
3.) Battery Relocator

now my question is, does anyone think its going to be better than what is on the market now? because im considering getting my car dyno'd this friday at church's, then order the intake and install it then go back and dyno again to see if there is any power gain. and if im disappointed i will get rid of the intake.

Was curious about this myself but since I already have an SRI and am planning on FI in the future I was not going to spend the money on this to just not need it in the future. but hey post up the results if you do decide to purchase it. And gud luck

who knows. when you already have one of the best intakes on the market, its kinda wish wash when you want to go with something else because you always have that doubt. and i noticed with my friend's pwjdm pc intake, u can see through the cf unlike the j's racing one.

You want CF?

Try Gruppe-M Ram Air.

Probably not much. If you look at it twists the air in different directions, so the "ram" in the ram air isn't very effective.

yes i would say that it looks like it would make good peak power but less responsive than other short rams

The paswordjdm power chamber is built on the same general idea as the T1R. You have a large space for instant air, that is refilled with air from a cool location. Now the T1R has a horn that sits behind the bumper while the PC tends to just take it from a cooler spot in the engine bay.

The Gruppe-M is nice but way too much money for any kind of intake. It does however win in the bling and different areas.

the PC made good power on the type s, and they really spent alot of time perfecting this one for our cars. they even included maf vanes.

Am looking foward to the dyno results. Other dyno tests seem to show that our stock OEM unit is more than adequate, with only slightly larger gains when compared to SRI.

I took a good look at the PWJDM PC for our car, that thing looks like it should fall in between a SRI and a CAI. Like most of the PC intakes, they do a good job of balancing top end power and power in the band. Probably going to be a good pick for all around, also looks to be big enough and short enough to keep clear of the bogging issues associated with more complex designs like the T1R or even regular old CAIs.

So, any dyno results on this intake? I know its a $hit load of money for just an intake but I would like to see what it produces. Thinking of going with that intake and the flash pro as a start. Has anyone gotten this intake yet? Thanks

Saw an independent dyno tune of this intake. Only gained ~5.5 whp over a stock intake (with the resonator removed, the biggest power-killer on the stock setup). Not very impressive for the $500 this thing costs. Lots of people are noticing choppiness while driving around with it, too. I'll stick to my DIY intake that cost me $90 to do, has no bogging/choppiness, etc etc.

Nice thread jack, but I'll help you out anyways.

http://www.gruppem.co.jp/matching/pr...?goods_id=6573

Price conversion without tax or shipping comes out to $1316.04.

Edit:

You have to relocate some reservoirs if I'm not mistaken (image of Nasif's FD converted FA).

******** also claims that if you are stock you see more of an increase in performance as opposed to someone with H/E

I don't know if its worth it for the price and the hassle it causes.

******** = 8th civic
