Is anybody watching the X-Games Rally competition?

I feel sorry for anybody that has to race Kenny Brack in this event. A guy who has run open wheel cars at insane speeds shouldn't have too much of a problem racing in rally.

Where the other drivers are totally sideways and drifting, Kenny Brack is smooth and going forward.

I was really surprised that some of the other drivers were able to stay sort of close in comparison. Then again, it's not over yet so lets see if he wins.

I still think the insane speeds of open wheel racing prepares you for anything. All the open wheels guys, including Kenny Brack, have started out in karting. Karts get sideways all the time.

To be fair, Kenny Brack was blisteringly fast on the paved portion of the course. He wasn't really that much faster than anybody else on the unpaved section.

I think the preliminary rounds were either on ESPN or ESPN2 earlier. I have only been watching it on ABC today.

He won! Kenny Brack won!

Wooo!!

I am happy to see him win again after that horrible crash that ended his open wheel racing days.

It was crazy that the announcers were calling him a "rookie" today. He probably has more track time in various types of cars than everybody else he was racing against.

Cool as it was, it would have been nice to see him have cleaner wins over Foust and Pastrana, as they're both very fast when in top form.

I like the Rally X but its the same people over and over again. Its getting boring.

I am 100% positive if any of you wanted to run in a competition like this you would jump immediately at the chance.

What does one have to do to get a subaru and compete in one of these?
Seems like all these guys have top sponsor dollars and you dont see your average joe or anyone else competing in Rally X

You could tell they were fighting time constraints with Deegan not having anytime to fix his intercooler pipe. They need to re-think it next year and give more time in between rounds.

That's the final I wanted to see Pastrana/Foust! But Brack was just the better driver, Pastrana and Foust were rattled by him, they both pushed to hard and paid the price. Brack satayed cool and it paid off...

As soon as I saw Kenny Brack was competing I knew he would win. He has been racing open wheel his whole life, plus he is from Sweden where rally is huge (the same goes for Finland).

Compare his experience to a "drifter" and a former motocross racer. The other guys looked like amateurs in comparison. Nothing against the other guys, except Kenny Brack is totally out of their league.

The thing I noticed was how smooth Kenny was on the pavement. He slid the car as little as possible, and didn't really get sideways. When you spend years racing karts you learn that getting sideways, while looking cool, really scrubs off a ton of speed. Karts don't have the type of big horsepower to recover from that, so you have to keep the speed up. The same goes for all the smaller formula cars (formula ford, formula 3, etc.).

The other drivers relied on big horsepower to muscle and slide the car around the tighter portions of the track. They were always sideways and smoking the tires. You can tell they didn't have much experience in low horsepower racecars or karts, because that builds smoothness. Kenny was smooooth and precise.

seriously action sports have become so comercialized it's really not even that much fun any more. Origional X-games used to be a week long with non stop coverage more or less, now it's just a weekend with only a few hours of coverage a day. Don't get me wrong they are great, but whatever they have for "rally racing" at the x-games is hardly entertaining. I would rather watch street louge or down hill skate boarding.
