i bought a 96 ek with the b16a2 swap in it and a few weeks ago the motor blew so i went and bought a motor and i got a jdm b16a2 sir2 since then the motor has been put in and only thing left to do is to plug in the engine harness and see if it starts ( thats what i was told from the mechanic ) the mechanic has had the car for a while and im starting to think something is wrong........ so is there something that im missing or might need to get to have the car fully start....... im a noob and its my first honda

 

Unless I'm missing something, if a mechanic has it, tell him to plug it all up and see if it fires up.

 

thats what ive been waiting for ... its been like 3 days since he told me dat all he had to do was to plug in the harness

U don't think I would need to change anything since the new engine I got is an sir 2

 

Well if your car was OBD2 then the OBD2 harness will not plug into the new b16a2 motor.

 

Ok so if he was to run into this problem what do I need to get cuz I've been carless for like a month now and gettin to work is becoming a hassel and I need my car runnin asap

 

Hmm, as far as I know, run the dizzy and intake mani from the old motor and it should work? Dont hold me to this though. Was your car OBD2 before? Or still OBD1?

 

Idk cuz when I bought the car it already had the swap and now I'm fixing everything that's messed up with car

 

Hmm, well to be on the safe side, I would use the dizzy and intake mani from the old motor any way. Everthing else should plug right up.

 

if the b16 that was originally swapped when you got the car was running, then the mechanic can use that harness on the new motor just transfer any needed parts(dizzy, injectors, sensors, etc..) onto the new motor and youre good to go.. i would go check up on him if i were you...
