so i just got my civic about a week ago but i don't think i want to keep the side strips they are old and faded
so i am thinking about taking them off and bondoing where they were to just make it flat and then i am gonna sand and paint the car either white, black, or a cool blue...

what i am wondering is if anyone has ever done this before
and if so will you let me know how it turned out
maybe some advise

Just take them off, repaint your car red and the moldings black, then put them back on.

 

Do like the other ricers on here, and fill it all with about 2" of Bondo

 

naw i think i would do a metal strip then bondo on top or something

 

You would need to replace or fix that fender first.

 

i am going to fix it i just bought it give me a break fool

 

Haha not ragging on you, just would hate to see you go through the work of doing it just to have to replace the fender.

just take them off and paint them..my crx came without them and it looks like do-do without them..stupid previous owner did the bondo mess and it looks terrible...

 

I would encourage you to keep the mouldings. Just replace or repaint them. I think it looks way cheaper without them.

 

Don't do it. Keep the moldings! It will look better with them. Do a liitle search and you will see it looks like *** without them.
