Check your slide pins. They might need lube

I took the car to les scwhab, they quoted me $467 for new brake pads, rotors and calipers. How in the hell could all of those be bad at once? WTF!!!

I paid:
$65 front pads (pair) (Hawk Ceramic)
$45 rear pads (pair) (Hawk Ceramic)
$15.99 front rotor (each) (Autozone Duralast)
$13.99 rear rotor (each) (Autozone Duralast)

That comes up to $170. Rebuilding calipers costs $300?

And pads and rotors are frequently found "bad" at the same time, when a mechanic is reporting their condition to a customer. I especially love when they try to convince me to turn my rotors "For only $20 each", when they cost less than that brand new...

Only issues I've ever had with the rear brakes is the caliper slide pins sticking, and those just need a nice layer of lube applied (that's what she said).
