How to replace altenator w/o removing half shaft?
I have a 93 integra and I was wondering if there was a way to take out the alternator without removing the half shaft and the cv axle..
As I recall, if you remove the tire and crank the steering wheel in one of the directions (don't remember which one), you will have enough room to wriggle the alternator out.
i will try turning the wheel.. i don't want to take out the master cylinder cuz i don't want to do all that bleeding stuff.. any other ways people have done it?
I've pulled mine right straight up, you have to find the right angle and a lot of jamming.
You might scrape a little paint doing this, it's a tight fit.
And I've also only done this on 94+ integras.

You woud need to unbolt the halfshaft, and push it to the left, you should be able to push it 2 inches or so, and then thats where you would need spend some time wedging and angling the alternator to get it out.

i unbolted the alternator and got it by moving it around in the back of the motor under the manifold...you just gotta move the hoses out of the way by hand and take off the intake
yeah i tried that a few days ago and everytime i got the hoses out the way i dropped the alternator.. i'll try a few more things when i have time and if not i'll just got buy the axle socket is it a 30mm or 32mm?
