Default TROUBLE CODE 8.. HeLp

I have a 00 honda civic si and iam throwing code 8. Which is a TDC sensor.. I was wondering what will this effect? My vtec is not engaging could this be y? and also what do i have to replace.. ive tried searching but realy couldnt get an answer thanks

You need to replace the distributor housing if the sensor is bad. Start by measuring the resistance (350-700 Ohms) of the sensor as the code can also be thrown by bad wires or a bad ECU.

Yes, this code will prevent VTEC engagement.
