yes of course i want something that rattles house windows and causes earthquakes dont we all? but i really just want something cheap and reliable for now can you recommend a place in a los angeles or if not some good subs so i can shop around for them, i will post alpine amp stats later today.

okay so its an alpine mrp-m350. i bought a year ago for my dad(his got stolen from cars) but he never got it installed and does not plan on having it installed in his new car anymore so i can use it.
If you are driving your front, [and rear] speakers with HU power only, the Alpine MRP-M350 and a 100-150 watt 10", [SVC 4 ohm] sub in a sealed box should sound pretty good, you could also use a 250 -300 watt 10" SVC 2 ohm sub, IMO the 4 ohm will have better SQ.
You should have no problem finding a brand name 10" 150W SVC 4 ohm sub for under $75 at one of your local car audio shops, maybe as low as $49.99 at a "blowout" sale.
The brand of speaker, [sub] does not matter, brands I would recommend are JL Audio, MTX, Kicker and Infinity, there are others but out of the 4 mentioned you should be able to to find a speaker in your price range...

You can build your own cabinet if you have the tools or get a pre-built, [and "beef it up"] for under $50...

I linked you to Crutchfield because they are authorized dealers for the product they sell, I always recommend buying from your local retail outlets, [over online buying] for many reasons, "authorized dealer" is at the top of the list, so Crutchfield qualifies for that reason.
Remember, the SQ, [sub-bass response] you get will have more to do with the installation, [including box construction] then the brand name/quality/price of the sub system. 94
