What organization are you running with? I know SpeedTrail does require a authorized inspection be done by personal and another one done on track. Redline and Speedventures are both self tech and NASA has their own tech on track.

Maybe he wants someone with experience to look his car over before he hits the track? I've teched cars with loose batteries, loose seats, bad wheel bearings, that were "self teched" before they got to the track.

Ghetto, where are you located? I am sure we can get your car looked at for free before you go.

These are the tech sheets that NASA uses, just make sure everything is taken care of.. if your in the L.A area or surrounding area let me know man, I'll be more than happy to help you out. Ive been running with NASA for almost a year and its better to be safe than sorry. I've ran with speedventures once and when i did that self tech isnt too great especially when you have someone leaking oil all over the track and you get caught in it.

Yep, self tech should only be applicable to people who actually know what they're doing, and then take the time to actually do it. It can be surprising how regular track use just loosens stuff up in a car.
