Icon2 boggin/ac/car sucking issues

Hello all i hope that someone out there can understand my issues, i have a tough time explaining what is going on...but here goes:

i have a 90 ex 5spd with 150k. the only time i have trouble with this thing is when its hot and i live in arizona so thats all the time!

the main issue is when i am at a stop light and i hit the gas the engine bogs out and i have to rev the crap out of it to get it to go, usually this is only if the AC is on (ac works pretty good and is almost always on). This creates a slipping feeling in the clutch pedal and a terrible chemical smell from the engine bay, this smell goes away after i drive for a bit, but then the next light comes and its the same thing all over again. Car idles great and i think the brake master cylinder is also going as the brake pedal seems to get squishy in the heat also. not sure if that is related, but i was thinking it may have to do with the vacum that is created by the brake system...

so this only plagues me in the hot hot parts of the day (over 100 usually). it is useless to even try a normal take off when its hot, i have to keep the revs over 1200 or so to get a normal take off...but then when it "kicks in" it jumps to around 3000 rpm and i get that terrible smell...The smell is definitely not clutch radiator fluid i am 100% positive on that as i know what those smell like in this car already!

any help/knowledge/guidance is way appreciated as i am stuck with this car for a while and i hate not enjoying it

thanks a bunch!

since you said the engine bogs out when you have to rev higher to move you car, that is because your AC is on when you are driving. the AC also use up power when your car is on and takes away power.

also since you're a 5speed, do you ride on your clutch? put your clutch in neutral when you're at a stop? those things can cause your tranny to slip. also see if your throw our bearing is still lubricated. there should also be about half an inch to an inch free play for your clutch pedal.

as for the brake, maybe look for a leak in the lines/holes or something. there might be air inside it and that what makes the squishy part. you might want to bleed your brakes.

and the smell, maybe brakes, oil, coolant, or just something cooking on your engine bay.

hope all that helped you out.

well i know the amount of HP that drains due to AC as this problem only happens when it is super hot outside. it feels like a vacuum issue its more than just a HP drain from the AC

i am really good with the clutch, never ride it at all and it always stays in nuetrual at the lights.

the issue only happens when its really hot out and the AC is on...if the AC is off the cars returns to normal...unless the brake thing starts happening again..its the smell that really concerns me...the fumes are so noxious that i feel like im killing brain cells...not like any smell i have ever smelled from a car..definitely not coolant or clutch...unless it could be brake fluid cause thats what i use for clutch fluid...

When was the last time you did any of the routine maintenance on the vehicle?

Fluid changes, etc?

Timing belt?
Water Pump?

At 18 years old and 150k you should have already done it at least twice on the car due to age of the parts. Also your AC compressor itself could be giving out. It has a clutch that could be slipping or locking up. You may want to consider replacing it.
