Default Anyone ever used Summit or JEGS racing wheels?

Hey guys,

I've been looking for wheels to use on my EG with JDM ITR 5-lug, so basically a 15x8 5x114 wheel. I really want the new exospeed wheels but I think they are going to be out of my price range, Welds are pricey too. I've been quoted $540 for Spinwerkes, which is doable but still a little rich for me.

I ran across racing wheels on JEGS and Summit that look like they would work, cast aluminum so Im sure they are a bit heavy but they are selling for $125 a piece. The car is a semi-daily driver and would only see the slicks at the track a few times a year so Im not looking to be extremely competative, just looking for traction at the drag strip to have some fun

Anyways, has anyone ever used either of these or something similar?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-521-5865PS/
http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/67021/10002/-1

I think the 4.5" backspace would work or they have 5.5" backspace which would probably also work with a smaller spacer maybe. Centerbore is 73mm so that shouldnt create any problems.

Any input would be aprreciated.

They will work but you will need centering rings, and they aren't so pretty i must say!

Yes 15x8. The guy at JEGS said the shipping weight was 23lb so he was guesing about 21lb. That is pretty ridiculous

I have a set of wheels on my mustang that are made by pacer(the company that makes the "summit" wheels) and mine are not that heavy. I have 15 X 10's and they only come in at 17lbs. which is still alittle heavy, but they were only $105 a pc.

Heres what they look like

yeah those look like the ones i posted in my first link.

does anyone think that 5.5" backspace is too much? on an 8" wheel that equals about 25mm offset (same inner clearance as my 15x7 +40 rotas)

Function is choosing a wheel that was designed for your car, not making something fit because it's cheap lol

im more asking about backspacing because something like a 4" backspace seems too low, the wheels will stick out too far.

comparing to lensos, 7.5" wide +25 offset. 8" wheels with 5.5" backspace (+25 offset) they both provide about the same clearance. the 8" wheel sits in 6mm more than the lenso, hence my need for a 1/4" spacer.

Pretty sure the original 5 star lensos are something like 350 a *pair*... Why not run those?

The new version (3pc) is what will run you around 350 a piece...

*edit* just realized you need 15s and i dont think the originals come in 15, thus your predicament.

Check out http://www.diamondracingwheels.com/ for some other, inexpensive options that are relatively light weight.

$400 for a set of 15x8 fronts and 15.3.5 rears is not too bad and they don't weight that much

I'll probably grab a set of the greg weld wheels. Summit has them for 112 each. Also a local speed shop carries them too.

Do you guys think I should go with 4.5 or 5.5 backspace?

Too bad, I do not believe they make a 4x100 lug version of any of the drag wheels.

they don't, otherwise hondas would be all over them. THe OP has a 5x4.5 bolt pattern though so he could use these.

The price is not bad and the 15x8 only weight 13lbs and the 15x3.5 only weigh 10lbs
