rad fluid smell...no overheating

Default rad fluid smell...no overheating

i got my si back from the body shop yesturday and i keep getting wiffs of the rad fluid...i smashed my front end so they changed my rad and a/c stuff. my question is..why is it smelling..is my car burning rad fluid? is there a leak? or will it just go away?

when they bled the system they prob got it all over the place. is it sweet smelling?

Yep. It either got all over when you crashed or when they took the rad out, but you are probably just smelling it burning off of the hot things in your engine bay, such as the block.

Maybe take it back to them just to be sure, but you probably have nothing to worry about if your coolant level and thermostat are normal.

yea it seems to be going away. i told the place that if its not gone by tuesday ill bring it back. i checked the rad., and its filled up with fluid but there is none in the resevoir. should i fill the rad fluid resevoir up or is it ok with just having the rad. filled up with fluid?

The reservoir should be full to either of the marks, labeled cold or hot (or something similar). If the car is warm, fill to hot. If it hasn't been started all day, fill to cold.
