Need Help... How to swap H22 into 2000 EK Hatch
Ok Guy well Ive finally finished my gsr swap into my ek hatch and its been awhile now since completed but ive noticed many ppl run this setup and not alot of people go h22... So I was wondering should i go stay gsr or H22... Next question very important how DO you swap in a h22 into a ek hatch can you guys shoot me some links or tell me how to... I couldnt find a topic here that shows you how to... Please help and feel free to express your opinions on which swap is betta....
i just recently put in h22 with a/c in a 97 hatchback and honestly i can say that its a lot funnier then a gs-r and beside youll be a lot quicker for being stock acourse ...but there is a downside, the work that you have to do isnt really that fun if you can find threads on how to do it they dont tell you everything that you need to do and theres a lot of small things that people forget to say..and a gs-r is a complete bolt-on no ASSEL AND HEADACHES...BUT I WOULD PREFER A H22 OVER A GS-R ANYTIME i would say that its worth it but thats is just me...
x2!
Go this route. its the easiest and faster route to take and its faster than just a standard h22 swap with less problems. You can keep all your B series parts such as your motor mounts, tranny, shift-linkages, and axels. I also went from a Gsr. Heres my h2b ek

It was a completely stock low mileage 97 cx.. I was so happy when I got it. The lightest ek you can have! I did a front end conversion using a complete authentic 99 civic Si front. Everything from the headlights, hood, fenders and lip. See how shiny the headlights are? I havent touched them besides changing the amber turn lights because one of them blew out

Ghetto way FTW! lol My si grill is in the mail. I just shaves a piece off the existing bumper support on the radiator support and drilled two holes and bolted it on.
doesnt look to bad, gaps look nice except at the top of the head light and fender looks a little off to me.
but other then that nice work!! not gheto at all.
one other thing way bolt? and not oem clip?

I feel safer using a bolt because the clips are cheap and plastic, I feel like they arent going to hold, I dunno im weird, but once I get my car painted i'll paint the bolts too so it wont be as noticable.
Go with the h22, it is not hard at all and you have a decend amount of room and the passenger side of the car, driver side is a lil cramped. I love mine and it didn't take long at all, but that is if you make sure you have everything you need before you strart. Mine took bout 5 days only because i spent 4 days cleaning up the bay and fixing a few things before i put the motor in.
Ok guys sounds good so Do any of you know what parts ima need to do the h22 swap and does any one know how to actually do the swap kind of a guideline so I can start... One more questions What engine is the h2b?
