Icon2 Idle problems...

Hi guys,

My car: 1997 Honda Accord LX

My problem today: Was sitting at a stop light, and I noticed that my car will be idling around 500 RPMs, then randomly it will drop to like 200 RPMs and ALMOST die. But then it catches itself and goes back up to 500.

Any ideas what may be causing this? Was looking for a thread on here for my year/model/problem but couldn't find any.

And also, is 500 RPMs what the normal idle for my car should be?

Thanks for your replies.

The normal idle is supposed to be a little higher than that. You should read the FAQ and search under "idle", there will be results!!

Awesome, thank you. I'll try adjusting it tomorrow.

Do you by chance know any trustworthy mechanics around the Seattle area? I wouldn't mind driving, but I need a tune-up badly and there are some things I wouldn't mind having looked at.

I have limited knowledge on cars.
