Default type r swap... crv?

thsis is an actual serious question

exactly what would be needed to swap in a jdm itr long block into a 98 crv awd? will the tranny and awd bolt right on? what motor mounts?

how complicated would it be to convert the awd into a fwd by utilizing the itr tranny? custom axles? custom shift linkage?

you can just bolt it in, use the crv mounts, the tranny will bolt up if you still want the awd.

i looked everything myself cause i was gonna try it myself

you need 5 speed shift linkage off a crv,the front axles off a crv but everything should hook together since they're both a b series...

also i had to make another account 8(

You are wrong, you need to use the whole tranny from a crv.
Also all the mounts off the b20, and wire in vtec and prob get
a conversion harness.

Best to get a 5spd crv, i redline 4th gear at 85mph so its a very
short geared quick tranny, auto's are junk.

ITR swap is EASY, and my stock B20 will still whoop you up

It shouldn't be too hard, but why would you want to? You could build the B20 block , slap b16 head on it with some decent cams and have a much better motor.

Seriously, a B20 vtec is the way to go with a CRV.

My stock boosted B20 would smack down a b20/vtec.

type R should fit just wiring would be a small issue like your Vtec and knock sensor and being obd2 im sure you would have to wire in the crank sensor as well pending if the CTR is obd1 or 2

OMG I thought about doing this to my brothers 01 CRV today! lol

He needs to replace his head and I told him he should just swap in a ITR motor! lol He thought I was stupid and that it wouldn't fit in and work! but why not?! haha I told him about CRV engines in other Hondas so why not other honda B-series engine in his CRV!

btw his is a Manual so if we sell his Civic, I'm gonna make him do this!

I might even beat you to this NSXRguy! lol (maybe)

it's a basic easy swap. I dont know whay you guys are getting so excited over it. It's the same as doing a swap in a civic for christs sake. You just have to use the oem tranny.
