Default Mugen Twin Loop Question

I have a Mugen twin loop I got on the cheap for my EG hatch, but the PO has it welded as a cat back no resonator. IDK that much about exhausts, and would like to put a resonator in, and was wondering which I should go with, its my understanding that even if I could get a Mugen B-pipe by itself it wouldn't fit well on a hatch, also the hassle and cost of obtaining a b-pipe by itself, so I was wondering if all resonators are created equal or if anyone could recommend a good brand.

Mugen B pipe tends to sell for about 300 used... since you have an Eg hatch, that twinloop was probobly origionally for an EK9 or DC2. so its probobly reworked already to fit your car. Id try very hard to find any used mugen B pipe and try and put the twinloop back together as best as possible.

But even if I could find a B-pipe it wouldn't fit on an eg hatch would it?

well you would have to cut it to make it shorter probobly, but the general shape is the same.

I just don't see why you think I should get a Mugen B pipe then if I'm just going to have to hack it up anyway? Just so the system is all Mugen?

Would just adding a resonator in the current piping be the same thing?

I've been looking, but I just checked king motorsports, and according to them a mugen twin loop is made for EG hatch.

Edit: its axle back only, there is no B-pipe for EG, so for those who are running TL on your EG what resonator do you use?

Yes, just do this. A pipe is a pipe, the exhaust shop will put whatever resonator you tell them and use whatever material piping you want to pay for. Why would you spend $300 to hack up an authentic product into worthless, generic metal?

Thats why initially my question was asking about which brand resonator to use.

Since your muffler is welded in you will have to get it cut and re-welded anyway to add anything, so I'd base my decision on total price.

If you go the route of just adding in the resonator, Magnaflow, Walker and Vibrant are all common brands. Just don't get one one of the generic ebay 'high flow' ones which may or may not actually be resonated. There are a bunch of vendors in the Marketplace that offer exhaust pieces. Contact all of them and see what they offer for your size piping.
