Default b18b1 Barred, can it be done? in cali

yeah i was looking in to doing an ls swap, then making it ls/vtec after i got it barred.
but i dont know if i can get it barred to my car, i have a EG8 and i have searched all over looking for info on the b18 and all i get is the b16's. do i need the same thing as the b16?
make it to del sol spects? i would really like some input on this.

you should be able to get it bared no problem, as long as you have all the emissions crap, not sure if you know already but lsvtec wont pass bar, so if you get a ref ticket, your eiher going to fail or have to switch the head back to ls.

To pass BAR:
Donor engine must come from a same year or newer vehicle
All emissions equipment from donor vehicle must be transplanted
Engine must come from same class of vehicle (no "light duty truck" engines, which is why the CRV B20 is illegal)
Must pass smog check under requirements of the donor vehicle

So yeah, it can certainly be done.
